The AK-47 Asiimov is part of the iconic Asiimov design family created by Coridium, inspired by science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov. The design — a futuristic white base with orange and black geometric stripes, crosses, and shapes — first appeared on the M4A4 and AWP before arriving on the AK-47 with the Danger Zone Collection on December 6, 2018. While the AWP Asiimov is the most famous of the trio, the AK-47 version has carved out its own strong following thanks to its accessible price point and the AK's popularity as the most-used rifle in CS2. Many players run the AK and AWP Asiimov together for a matched loadout.
The AK-47 Asiimov only has a 0.02 float range for Factory New(0.05–0.07), making FN copies relatively scarce and expensive at $300–550. This creates a massive price gap between FN and the next tier down. Field-Tested($40–55) is by far the most traded condition — it offers the recognizable Asiimov look at a fraction of the FN price. The orange and white design is still clearly visible in FT, and during gameplay the difference from FN is modest. For most players, FT represents the optimal price-to-appearance ratio. Low-float FT copies (under 0.20) are particularly sought after by traders who want the cleanest possible FT look. Use our inspect tool to compare exact float values before buying.
Like all Asiimov skins, the AK-47 version darkens progressively with higher float. In Factory New (0.05–0.07), the whites are at their brightest and the orange stripes pop with maximum contrast against the black body. By Field-Tested, visible darkening appears on the white sections but the design remains crisp. In Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, heavy darkening sets in — the whites turn grey-ish and the orange loses vibrancy. The max float of 0.70 means no ultra-high BS copies exist, so the darkening never reaches the extreme levels seen on skins with 1.00 max float. For traders, low-float FN copies hold value best, while FT remains the volume king of the Asiimov market.
