The SSG 08 Blood in the Water is one of the oldest Covert skins in CS2, originally released in September 2013as part of the Operation Bravo Collection. The design features a dramatic great white shark breaching through churning ocean waves — a design that has become iconic in the CS community. It later became available through the Chroma 2 Collection (Chroma 2 Case), which expanded its supply but did little to diminish its legacy status. As an OG Operation Bravo skin, Blood in the Water carries nostalgia value that newer skins simply cannot replicate. For SSG 08 (Scout) enthusiasts, this remains the undisputed king of Scout skins — no other SSG 08 finish comes close in terms of community recognition and collector demand.

MW vs FN — Why Minimal Wear is the Sweet Spot

The SSG 08 Blood in the Water has a minimum float of 0.06, meaning Factory New copies only exist in the extremely narrow 0.06–0.07 range. This scarcity pushes FN prices to $45–70 — roughly 2–4x the cost of Minimal Wear at $15–25. The visual difference between a 0.06 FN and a 0.07 MW is virtually imperceptible in-game, making MW the clear sweet spotfor players who want the crispest shark artwork without the FN premium. Even low-float MW copies (0.07–0.09) look nearly identical to FN. Field-Tested at $12–20 is also a solid budget pick — the shark design remains intact with only minor surface scratches. How Float Affects the Shark & Ocean Artwork

The Blood in the Water design is highly sensitive to float valuebecause the entire skin surface is covered in detailed artwork. In Factory New and Minimal Wear, the shark's teeth are sharp, the water droplets are crisp, and the ocean gradient flows smoothly from deep blue to frothy white. As float increases into Field-Tested territory, light scratches appear across the body but the overall composition stays strong. In Well-Worn (0.38–0.45), noticeable wear marks begin to break up the ocean gradient. The extended max float of 0.80means Battle-Scarred copies can show significant fading and scratching — the ocean loses its depth and the shark design becomes less defined. For traders, low-float MW copies (under 0.08) command a slight premium over average MW, while high-float BS copies are primarily budget entry points for players who want the design at the lowest possible price.
