The AK-47 Redline is one of the most iconic mid-tier skins in CS2. Introduced with Operation Bravoin 2013, it features a striking dark crimson and black design that's aged remarkably well. It's a staple for players who want a premium look without spending hundreds of dollars — but "Redline price" isn't a single number. Float value changes everything.
The AK-47 Redline only exists in Field-Tested (FT), Minimal Wear (MW), and Factory New (FN) condition. Field-Tested — with a float range of 0.15 to 0.38— is by far the most traded tier because it offers the best price-to-appearance ratio. At an average of $32–35, it's accessible to most players while still looking clean in-game.
Factory New exists and looks noticeably crisper, but at $80–120 it costs 3–4x more for a visual difference that's barely noticeable during gameplay. Most traders and players gravitate to FT as a result.
Within Field-Tested, float value has real monetary impact. A Redline at 0.151 and one at 0.370 are both technically "Field-Tested," but they can differ by $10–15 in market value. The lowest-float FT Redlines — those in the 0.150–0.160range — are called "low float FTs" and command a consistent premium of 15–30% above the FT average.
Why? Because a float of 0.151 is almost as clean as a Minimal Wear without the MW price tag. The wear patterns are much less pronounced, and experienced traders know this — which is why low-float FT listings move faster and often sell above listing price when demand is high.
Unlike the AK-47 Case Hardened— where a single pattern seed can make the difference between a $200 skin and a $20,000 "Blue Gem" — the Redline's design is uniform across all pattern seeds. This means you should focus exclusively on float value when evaluating a Redline.
